    Re: All Lpd

Yep Coeburn walked the dog on Clintwood and Burton this year with our 46 players. We did have either 46 or 48 dressed and on the field first game against Clintwood and ended the year with 39. Having alot of kids doesn't really mean that much untill you start getting 12-15 per grade level coming outevery year and sticking with it from 9th grade on and working and getting better. We had great numbers this year and nearly twice as many as we ever had with Sanders or Mullins. The kids really like Coach Hamilton and came out to play for him. Winning the district title will only add to that and get more kids out in 8th and 9th that can be developed into kids gettin pt in 10th grade and that is how you build a solid program.

To really try and gauge a program on just numbers you have to look at the jv team and the numbers on it which only consists of 8th and 9th graders. Clintwood had around 26 on their jv team and is how they are able to field strong teams year after year. This year Coeburn had 26 on the jv just 8th and 9th that all got playing time and had 3 9th graders that played varsity only so that number could have been 29. This is the first time I can remember having young numbers like this since the late 80's early 90's and makes the future look very promising.

    Re: All Lpd

My whole point was that if they are going to do it fair it should be the best players out of the 10 game schedule, because alot of times the best PLAYER is over looked by the person on the best TEAM, not punishing the team for their post game performance because being in the post season should be enough reward. About the numbers thing i wasn't saying that numbers is the only reason they win, but it does help when your at practice going against a good second team instead of a bad half line. helps with drills and helps the first team have a good look at what they will be seeing on gameday

so be honest, which Pound player are you ****ed off didnt get the Offensive Back of the Year award? Is it Bathis?

He was one helluva player, but I have no problems with Meade getting it. He had a great year.

and to be honest, I might have given Bathis the Back of the Year award, but its not like its this huge travesty that Meade got it.

it also helps if you have more than 3 kids lifting weights all year and committing to the program, and if you dont have parents raising hell because things dont go their way.
Cant we all just get along?

I don't know how the LPD does things, but the Cumberland coaches meet and vote before the playoffs start. The selections aren't released to the media until after the last district team has been eliminated from the playoffs.

I was getting ready to reply with something about this. The LPD votes after the regular season, the playoffs have NOTHING to do with it. So your entire point is invalid.

But the All-LPD team is a joke and has been for numerous years.
